10th Assembly Speakership: Group Endorses Idris Wase as Next Speaker
The Middle Belt Youth O’clock Movement, a political pressure group has endorsed the current deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, as the most competent and experienced legislator, for the Speaker of the green chamber.
At a press conference in Abuja on Saturday, the group said that the North Central, from where Idris hails has not been given an opportunity to occupy the exalted position.
Idris Wase, who is in the race for speakership with other legislators is a four-term legislator in the green chamber.
Silas Enemeri, the group’s National President, said the North Central has been marginalized since the return of democracy in 1999 and urged the ruling party to zone the post.
The group also believed that for the administration of president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to have a smooth governance, Idris Wase has the experience to create harmony between the executive and the legislature.

The group also urged other legislators in the National Assembly to support and endorse Idris Wase as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th Assembly.
