17 kidnapped indigenes regain freedom in Sokoto
Seventeen indigenes of Sokoto State abducted by suspected bandits from neighbouring Zamfara State were among those rescued recently by the joint task force against banditry and kidnapping, operating in Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto States.
Receiving the victims from a delegation from Zamfara State, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensure adequate security of lives and property for the people in the state.
He commended the government of Zamfara State and the Armed Forces for their efforts in the rescue of the victims from kidnappers.
The governor expressed happiness that the victims, sixteen from Tureta and one from Rabah Local Government Areas, were found in good health after they were examined by medical personnel at Government House, Sokoto.
Gov. Tambuwal appealed to the people of the state to continue to support security agents to strengthen their fight against crimes.
