The Executive Director of National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib says Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above are eligible to take any kind of Covid-19 Vaccine without side effects.
Dr. Shuaib stated this in Abuja on Tuesday at a press briefing to update Nigerians on Covid-19.
NPHCDA disclosed that Nigeria is using Astra Zeneca Vaccine, Modena Vaccine and Johnson and Johnson Vaccine which had been approved by NAFDAC for usage.
Faisal said a total of 1.4 million Nigerians have taken the first Jab of the Covid-19 vaccine, adding that the duration of giving out the vaccine is two years.
Speaking at the Press briefing, the Country Representative of World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Kazadi Mulombo, said the World Health Organization (WHO) is working with Nigeria in making sure that the vaccine gets to many more
Nigerians.
Dr. Mulombo who said recently there had been reports of high cases of Covid-19 in the country, urged everyone to avoid large gatherings and always use facemask and observe the covid-19 protocols.
He acknowledge the media for spreading credible information to the members of the public on the importance of taking the covid-19 vaccine.
