Substitute Lee Tomlin then put Cardiff back in front two minutes after the break, to set up a tense second half.

They will now face local rivals Brentford at Wembley, for a place in the Premier League.

Brentford on Wednesday beat Swansea City by the same aggregate score.

Fulham, who had finished one place above Cardiff in the final Championship table, last won a Championship play-off final two years ago, beating Aston Villa 1-0 at Wembley to earn promotion.

Borussia Dortmund winger, Jadon Sancho, was with the rest of the squad as they flew to Switzerland on Monday morning.

The Manchester United target reported to duty, as the Bundesliga side traveled to their pre-season training camp.

Dortmund chiefs had made it clear that if Sancho traveled with the team, then he would not be leaving the club in the current transfer window.

United bosses have always regarded the deadline as a bluff by their German counterparts to get a deal done quickly.

However, Sancho, 20, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s number one target this summer is keen to move to Old Trafford.

But so far United have refused to meet his £105million asking price.

Dortmund wants at least £100million for Sancho, but United are only willing to pay £80million.

Real Madrid are so desperate to land Paulo Dybala and will offer Juventus two first-team players.

It is understood that the two players Real Madrid will offer to force the deal are: Isco and Toni Kroos.

Zinedine Zidane’s side have contacted the Serie A champions and proposed a mammoth swap deal for Dybala that could exceed €100million (£90m).

The La Liga champions are desperate to bolster their attack this summer after their exit from this year’s Champions League at the hands of Manchester City.

The Los Blancos have been far too reliant on striker, Karim Benzema, for goals, with their next highest scorer being defender, Sergio Ramos on 11 – most of which have been penalties.

Meanwhile, Juventus have little desire to let Dybala leave and intend to resist Real’s interest, though they are conscious of the need to raise funds for new signings and that stance could change.

The Old Lady were eliminated from the Champions League in the last 16 against French Ligue 1 side, Lyon and reacted immediately by sacking manager, Maurizio Sarri, and replacing him with Andrea Pirlo.
