2023 Election: Nigerian Women Present Their Demands
As Nigeria is approaching the 2023 general elections, a group of women under the ages of Voice of Women has presented a charter of demand to the presidential candidates so as to include women in governance if elected into office come 2023 elections.
At the 6th edition of the voice of women conference held in Abuja on Tuesday, themed ‘’towards rebuilding Nigeria, an agenda setting for an inclusive and accountable Nigeria’’.
The women called on the presidential candidate for good governance, guarantee quality of life, health and wellbeing for women and girls in Nigeria.
The presidential candidates promised to give women thirty-five per cent affirmative, review of the legislation to promote the right of women, creation of better investment for women in agriculture and technology.

The presidential candidates also promised to sign legal agreement with the women association across the country for them to know how serious they are.
In her remarks, the minister of Women Affairs Paullen Tallen, said the 2023 elections is a game changer as the Nigerian women are ready to hold the presidential candidates responsible of their promises they made to them.

Over 300 women were present at the conference to set an agenda for the candidates, was also attended by politicians, Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), civil society organisations, women advocates, amongst others.
