2023 Election: PDP Set to Take Over Power – Tambuwal

The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is ready to take over governance in Nigeria in the 2023 forthcoming election.

Tambuwal made the statement on Wednesday while chairing a two-day PDP national retreat in Abuja, themed “It’s time to rescue and rebuild Nigeria”.

After being in power for 18 years, the People’s Democratic Candidate, Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election to Muhammadu Buhari, similarly, Atiku Abubakar lost the seat to the All Progressive Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

Tambuwal also assured Nigerians that the People’s Democratic Candidate, is ready to take over Nigeria in 2023, adding that the party is going to be a knowledge driven.

Tambuwal recall that in 2003 when contesting for House of Representative in his constituency, it was a thug of war for him as he was forced out of PDP to ANPP, and fortunately he won 9 vote out of 11 a victory which he described as a struggle.

He also congratulated the newly elected National Working Committee of PDP, promising that governors forum is with them, and wishing them successful tenure in office.

The People’s Democratic Party, National Secretary elect, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, while giving vote of thanks, appreciate the outgoing National Working Committee, describing them as “Incumbent National Committee Members” who are always there to support them and the party.

The two-day event which was attended by PDP political elites, former Vice President, former Senate President, Governors, Senators, House of Representatives amongst others was aimed at addressing issues such as the Nigerian economy, sovereignty, youth and women inclusion in politics and also the rebranding of the People’s Democratic Party.
