2023: I’m not running for president, says Wike
Contrary to speculations making the rounds, the
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says he is not nursing an ambition of running for the office of the President of Nigeria in the 2023 general election.
Speaking as a guest on Arise Television on Sunday, Wike debunked speculations linking him to presidential ambition, saying there are distractions.
“Right now, I am focusing on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers State,” the governor said.
He added that he is focusing on human and infrastructural development of the state as well as returning Port Harcourt to the garden city status.
The Rivers State governor also said that the massive infrastructure growth in the state is a testimony to his promise to the people in his campaigns for his second term in office.
