2023: Yar’adua Asked To Contest Katsina Gov’ship
A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Alliance for Democracy and Purposeful Leadership, has called on Senator Abubakar Sadiq Yar’adua, who represented Katsina Central in the National Assembly to contest the 2023 governorship election to “salvage the state.”
At a press conference held in Katsina yesterday, the chairman of the group, Engr Abubakar Hamza, said the call became necessary to ensure a change of baton that would guarantee peace and stability of the state.
“It amounts to a cliché to say that we are in dire need of competent hands to steer the political ship of our state especially at these trying times in the history of our existence.
“Our resolve to call for Senator Yar’adua to run for the office of number one citizen of Katsina State is not accidental or incidental. If track record and working experience are anything to consider in selecting a gubernatorial candidate, then-Senator Sadiq Yar’adua is the man the cap fits.
“All the parameters, the variables and criteria we employed during our experiment favoured this gentleman. Of all the people we studied, Sen Yar’dua was the only person with spotless record devoid of corruption and scandal of any type throughout his career as a civil servant, technocrat and politician,” the group said.
