22 ARRAIGNED OVER 13 PLATEAU WEDDING GUESTS’ KILLING

The Plateau State Police Command has announced the commencement of the trial of the 22 suspects arrested in connection with the death of 13 wedding guests in Mangun community in Mangu Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred on June 20, 2025, when a 32-seater bus with the inscription, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria lost its way and unfortunately attacked by a mob at the Mangun village resulting in the deaths and injuries of several people.

Addressing journalists at the command’s headquarters in Jos, the state Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina said the command had swiftly responded to the incident, deploying men and operational assets to the scene to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.

Adesina added that the command had concluded investigations and charged the suspects in court and assured the people that the command was committed to ensuring that all those involved in the perpetration of the act were brought to justice.

He called on citizens, especially the youths, to avoid taking the law into their hands and to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or security agency.
