Value of stocks in NSE rises with 57.65% on Monday.

Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange resumed on Monday with a notable surge in the value of stocks traded. It closed at 5,229,083,440.73 naira on Friday and rose to 8,244,052,788.62 on Monday. This was a 57.65% rise.

Also the All Share Index rose from 31,016.17 to 32243.05, a 3. 96% increase with the total deal rising to 7210.00 from 6,354.00

The volume of stocks however fell to 636,010,098.00 from 637,494,737, a 0.23% decrease.

DANGOTE CEMENT maintained a first position on the top gainers table. It gained 10.5 naira on its share price, rising from 174.5 naira to 185, a 6.01% rise.

MTNN also gained 6.5 naira per share.  The share price rose from 144 naira to 150.1, a 4.51% rise and WAPCO NIGERIAN PLC followed with a 1.95 gain per share. This was an increase from 19.5 naira per share traded on Friday to 21.45, a 10% rise.

Other top gainers were BUA CEMENT, GUARANTY TRUST BANK and ZENITH BANK PLC

CONOIl and NCR NIGERIAN PLC led other 11 losers on the chart. CONOIL lost 1.2 naira with its share price dropping to 17.85 naira from 19.05.

NCR NIG. PLC on the other hand lost 2 kobo and close at 1.8 naira from 2 naira traded on Friday.

Other losers include; PZ, LEARN AFRICA NIGERIAN PLC and AFRICAN PRUDENTIAL NIG. PLC
