Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday maintained a positive stance after an impressive surge in all indicators on Wednesday.
The volume, value, the All Share Index and the number of deals increased with impressive values.
The volume of shares traded climbed from 858,156,620 traded on Wednesday to 1,192,804,641 on Thursday. This was a 38.99% rise.
The value also increased to 17,395,925,115.15 from N9,062,731,852.56 traded on Wednesday, a 114.01% increase.
The All Share Index rose from 33,268.36 traded on Wednesday to 35,342.46, a 6.23% increase and the total deals closing at 10,704 from 8,142 traded on Wednesday.
NESTLE gained 50 naira on its share price to top the gainer’s chart among other 71 gainers on the chart. Its share price rose from 1400 naira to 1450, a 3.57% rise.
Airtel Africa plc stood behind nestle with a 41 naira gain per share. Its share price rose to 451.2 naira from 410.2, a 9.99% rise and DANGOTE CEMENT followed with a 15 naira gain per share. Its share price climbed to 200 naira from 185, a 7.5 % rise.
PRESCO also gained a 7.25 naira on its share price. Its share price increased from 72.5 naira per share traded on Wednesday to 7.25, and NIGERIAN BREWERIES share price rose from 57.5 naira to 63.1, a 5.6 naira or 9.73% gain per share.

ETERNA PLC led other 8 losers on the chart. Its share price fell to 4.57 naira per share from 5.07, a 50 kobo or 9.86%.
GLOBAL SPECTRUM PLC lost 46 kobo per share with its share price plunging to 4.19 naira from 4.65 traded on Wednesday.
Other top losers were MAY BAKER PLC, NEM INSURANCE PLC and MORISON PLC
