3 Killed in Taraba Militia Attack

Some suspected Tiv militia were said to have launched an attack during the early hours of Thursday, killing three people in Wukari local government area of Taraba state.

The armed attackers came to Rafinkada town, located along Wukari-Takum road at about 2 am on Thursday, on several motorbikes, shooting in all directions and killed two women and an elderly person, while wounding some and scaring away many as women and children were forced to flee.
The Chairman of Wukari Local Government Council, Adi Daniel, confirmed the incident while stating that there was confusion due to the heavy shooting coming from all directions in the town while stating that the town was not far away from Benue boundary and the town suffered more than twenty attacks from Tiv militia during Jukun-Tiv crisis.
The Spoke person of the Taraba police command, DSP David Misal also confirmed the attack.
