Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned a former member of the Senate representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani, on two counts of bribery and advance fee fraud.
He was arraigned on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
However, Sani’s pleaded not guilty to the charges as his counsel, A. Ibrahim, also demanded his client’s bail.
But the lead counsel to the EFCC said he was just served the bail application notice a while ago.
The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, later suspended the bail hearing application.
This, the judge said would enable the prosecutor to study the bail application before 12pm.
