End Corruption in NDDC now Civil society tell President Buhari
The Act for Positive Transformation Initiative, a civil society organization has called on the Buhari led administration to block all loopholes used by perpetrators to embezzle public funds.
While also accusing the Interim Management Committee, (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) of making moves to cover up 75 billion Naira fraud allegation in the commission as against the the touted 40billion Naira.
They described the claim by officials that the the late Ibanga Etang, the Executive Director of Finance & Administration died of COVID 19 as an attempt meant to jeopardize the ongoing probe of the commission.
The NGO requested an investigation to be launched into the death of the late Ibanga Etang, who was NDDC Executive Director of Finance & Administration who died on May 28th, 2020.
Whom the NDDC claims and NCDC officials in Rivers State claimed died of Corona virus.
While describing the act and an attempt meant to jeopardize the ongoing probe of the commission.
“on National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), the Ministry of Health, the Presidential task Force on COVID-19 and all relevant agencies to immediately investigate NDDC claims and NCDC officials in Rivers State” on the death of the late NDDC Executive Director of Finance & Administration who died on May 28th, 2020.
While condeming the way at which the National Assembly is handling corruption issues at the NDDC it stated that “till date, we are yet to receive any invite from the National Assembly despite our extensive work in exposing the ongoing corruption in the commission.”
In a press conference organised by The Act for positive transformation Initiative led by Mr. Kolawole Johnson the Head, Directorate of Research, Strategy & Programmes, the organisation also lamented on the federal government borrowing ; “We cannot be borrowing for some people’s pleasure and greed. Nigeria must work. Niger Delta must work. The people must not be left in the present state of neglect. The President must act now.”
