President Muhammadu Buhari is in a meeting with the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the Edo State September 19 election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu at the State House, Abuja.

Ize-Iyamu was led to the State House by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Malla Buni, as well as the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Reports say that both the Yobe and Kano states governors are at Aso Rock to present the  APC governorship candidate to the President for his endorsement and support for the forthcoming elections, and kindly appeal to the President to be part of the APC and Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s governorship campaign to give more acceptability to it.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s visit to the State House is coming hours after the twist in Edo state House of Assembly on Thursday, where 17 members purportedly removed the Speaker, Francis Ekiye, and his Deputy, Roland Asoro, and elected Victor Edoror as Speaker and Emmanuel Agbaje as Deputy after their inauguration at an undisclosed location in Benin, Edo State.

14 of the 17 them were the embattled lawmakers-elect who were absent at the proclamation and inauguration of the Edo State Assembly on June,17 2019. The other 3 are part of the 10 who were inaugurated but are now loyal to the former National chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole and supporters of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy, Philip Shuaibu, and the Speaker, Edo State House of Assemby, Francis Ekiye, were at the assembly complex on Ring Road, Benin City, on Thursday to stop the Victor Edoror group from gaining access to the State House of Assembly.
