International Youth Day. Ugwuanyi Govt. to roll out Enugu Youth Rescue Project – Comm. for Sports
Wednesday 12th of August was International Youth Day and in Enugu State, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development in partnership with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices organized a youth event in Enugu with the theme “Youths Engagement for Global Action”.
Speaking at the event, the Enugu State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development Hon. Manfred Nzekwe said Enugu State Government was committed towards engaging the youth of Enugu State in driving social innovation and change by participating fully in the governance and development of Enugu State and Nigeria at large.
He said the Government was unveiling a youth engagement programme tagged ‘Enugu Youth Rescue Project’ which is captured in the Government action and implementation plan for 2020- 2023, designed to collect, collate and create baseline data of artisans, start-ups and unemployed youth of Enugu State.
Nzekwe told youths at the event that the project will enable government carry out intervention based on the available data and proffer direct solutions to the long-standing unemployment challenges of youths in Enugu State.
