US arrests Trump’s former aide Bannon over $25m fraud

Steve Bannon, former top adviser to President Donald Trump was arrested on Thursday by U.S. authorities.

Federal prosecutors had accused Bannon and three others of defrauding hundreds and thousands of donors fundraising for a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico.

The online crowd funding campaign known as “We Build the Wall” raised more than $25 million, prosecutors said, which the defendants said would be used on construction but was instead used for their own profit.
