Military incursion into civil affair, unconstitutional – Coalition of Civil Societies.

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria has reacted to the threat issued by the Nigerian military to clamp down on the #EndSARS protesters.
The military on Tuesday said that it would not stand unconcerned as undemocratic forces undermine the government and peace of the nation.
While addressing the press on Sunday, the Civil Society Coalition described the threat by the military as unconstitutional and evidence of lack of coordination.
The group therefore advised the military to desist from encroaching into a civil matter, noting that the international community was watching the way the Nigerian government was handling the peaceful protest.
The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations which called on the Nigerian government to give justice to victims of police brutality and ensure that those arrested during the #EndSARS protest are released, said no responsible government will watch about 13 innocent citizens killed for no good cause.
The group while advising the government to direct security operatives to protect the protesters who are calling for a stop to corruption and bad governance, said the protest was necessitated by the inadequate response of government to the long standing impunity of the police and public office holders.
