kidnapped victim rescued in Kogi State by the Police
A kidnapped victim was rescued by Policemen in Ajaokuta Division in Kogi and two AK 47 rifles with 29 rounds of live ammunition were recovered.
This was disclosed on Monday by the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP William Ayah, in a press statement.
He said that the Police operatives acted on a report received on 25 April, 2021 that four armed men stopped a vehicle at PYN junction, Ajaokuta, and adopted a man.
When they got the report the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Shola Night, led a team of officers to the scene and trailed the hoodlums, stormed their hideouts, and engaged them in a gun duel which led the hoodlums fleeing with bullet wounds, while the victim was rescued unhurt and two AK 47 rifles with 29 rounds of ammunition recovered.
The Commissioner of Police Kogi State Command, Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, called on members of the public to be observant and security-conscious. He added that anybody seen with bullet wounds should be reported to the nearest police station or any other security agencies.
