An NGO based in Enugu has raised concern about a dangerous kind of cancer known as Multiple Myeloma.
According to the Country Manager of the NGO Ugochukwu Obodougo multiple myeloma is simply known as cancer of the bone marrow and is one of the most dangerous killer cancer diseases and very expensive to manage.
Ugochukwu while speaking at a one day workshop organized by the Foundation which focuses its work on the prevention and management of Multiple Myeloma, held in Enugu state, drew the attention of the government to the pains, sufferings and economic burden occasioned by this killer cancer.
He said the experience of their father, Late Calistus Obodougo who suffered and died as a result of cancer led to the birth of the Foundation in 2018.
“Our experience managing our father later gave birth to our NGO”
He spoke on the outreach of the NGO, seeking to help other patients suffering from cancer and the need to improve the capacity of the health workers in Nigeria.
