NUJ condemns rising tides of youth restiveness in Niger State

The Niger State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has condemned in strong terms the increasing rate of thuggery and youth restiveness in the state.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of its congress presided by the state Chairman, Comrade Abu Nmodu in Minna.

It called on the state government to build mechanisms that involve parents and community leaders to curb the menace.

The Communique signed by Yunusa Abugi -Chairman and Mathew Jwantu – Secretary also called on the Federal Government to give equal attention to banditry attacks in Niger as it is in other states.

The union expressed dissatisfaction with Abuja Electricity Distribution company (AEDC) for epileptic power supply in the State, despite the state government’s effort to provide prepaid meter and transformers.
