IGP commissions a newly built ultra modern Police Station in Enugu, warns against illegal means of agitation
The inspector general of Police Alkali Baba Usman on Wednesday the 21st of December 2022 commissions.
The ultra-modern police station is located at Inyi in Oji River Local government area of the state.
In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police Enugu State Armed Ammani thanked the inspector for finding the state worthy in building the over one hundred and twenty ultra-modern police station across the country.
He assured him that the command will do everything possible to put in use and also to protect the facility. He promised to work with the host community in making sure that lives and properties are secured.
He also showed his gratitude towards the inyi Community for their support to the police and solicits for continuous support from them. In his welcome address,
the Executive governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was ably represented by the Secretary to the State government Prof. Otuanya welcomed the inspector general of Police and his entourage.
He said the presence of the inspector general of Police to commission the wonderful project shows how serious the federal and the State government take the security in the country.
The inspector general of Police in his address thanked the state governor and the members of the state for welcoming him.
He said that the ultra modern police station is aimed as means of reducing the insecurity in the state and in the country at large.
He thanked the host Community for supporting the police, saying that nobody from outside the community can secure the community without their support.
The inspector general also warned that those criminals masquerading themselves as agitators better stop before it is too late. Saying that agitation is done peacefully not violently.
He thanked the State command for creating a mutual relationship between the State Police and the community policing saying that will help provide adequate security in the state.
Also at the event was the Local government Chairman of Oji River Local government area Hon. Chinedu Onyeagba, the representatives of both army, immigration and department of security services, other senior officers of Nigeria police and also the the traditional rulers
