Eid-el-Fitr: Sokoto Extends Holiday To Friday
Sokoto state government has yesterday, through a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa, declared today, Friday April 12, as a work-free day in the state.
The statement stated that the public holiday was to allow civil servants to continue their Eid-el-Fitr celebrations with their families.
This makes Sokoto state the only state in Nigeria to extend their own Eid-el-Fitr holiday to include Friday April 12 beyond the Federal Government’s extension of the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11.
