NYSC Introduces Flexible Redeployment Policy for Married Female Corps Members
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has introduced a new redeployment option specifically for married female corps members, allowing them to serve in states where their husbands reside.
This policy update aims to support the family lives of married women who are called to serve, ensuring they can maintain their household stability during their service year.
The NYSC Director-General stated that this redeployment option is part of the organization’s commitment to making the service year more accommodating for female corps members. To qualify for this option, married corps members will need to provide valid documentation, such as a marriage certificate, a change of name published in a national newspaper, and proof of their husband’s residence.
This move has been welcomed by many as a positive step toward supporting the well-being of married female corps members, allowing them to fulfill their national duties without being separated from their families. The NYSC urges all eligible corps members to take advantage of this opportunity during the redeployment process.
