More Deaths Recorded In Ebonyi Ghastly Accident
More lives have been recorded lost in the accident that happened on Wednesday around 2pm along Okposi-Amasiri Road involving a group of 2024 Batch C Stream 2 corps members heading to Orientation camp in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The accident which involved an Enugu North Mass Transit bus they boarded ran under a stationary truck within the Okposi axis in Ohaozara LGA, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries.
According to a press statement released by David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Uburu late Thursday evening, four lives have been loss as a result of the accident.
Thirteen victims were rushed to the hospital and upon arrival, two victims succumbed to their injuries. Two were transferred to the surgical ward, while others were admitted to the accident and emergency ward.
Meanwhile, one corps member escaped without injuries, while the driver sustained severe cervical injuries.
The survivors are now recuperating, and hospital officials are optimistic about their chances of making a full recovery.
