Man Electrocuted In Aba
A middle aged man on Monday, lost his life after being electrocuted at the Wilcox Relief transformer located at No. 13 Chief Nwangwa Street, off Compost road, Ogbor Hill, Aba Abia State.
Signature TV gathered that the victim was electrocuted after climbing a high-tension electricity pole, at about 2 AM, in an attempt to steal system-attached components when power was suddenly restored, leading to his death.
Residents of the area had told Aba Power Limited to disconnect them due to the excess electricity tariff which had become worrisome since July 2024.
According to them, Aba Power Limited who had disconnected the area in a bid to protect the transformer, left power in the neutral line, which the deceased wasn’t aware of before carrying out the crime.
