Super Eagles stars, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina, have sent a message to Nigerians ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, respectively.

Iwobi and Aina urged Nigerians to continue to support the Super Eagles as they seek to secure a ticket to next year’s World Cup.

“My message [to Nigerians] will be to continue supporting us,” Iwobi told Super Eagles’ media team.

“So if you guys can believe in us and give us the energy that we need to go and get the result that we want to achieve to go to the World Cup.”

On his part, Aina, who currently plays for his club at Nottingham Forest, said: “A message to Nigerians is that, you know, we know it’s a tough task ahead of us, but we are ready for the challenge. So keep believing and supporting [us].”

Similarly, Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has admitted that Nigeria is now in a difficult situation amid the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking to Ademola Victor TV, Dele-Bashiru said: “All the players, coaching staff and fans have the same expectations for these upcoming games of the World Cup qualifiers, and that is to win the games.

“We are in a difficult situation now, six points off the top but everyone knows what we need to do, and that is what we are going to work towards.

“We have got a few more players coming in today, so once the squad is complete, the work really starts, and I’m confident we will get the job done.”

Eric Chelle’s side will tackle Rwanda on Saturday, and face South Africa three days later.
