Egbetokun Retires As IG
The presidency on Tuesday announced the retirement of Kayode Egbetokun as Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police.
Egbetokun has been battling with a terminal health condition which rendered him ineffective in office.

Although the presidency has not publicly announced Egbetokun’s successor, early reports indicate that president Bola Tinubu has settled for Lagos born Assistant Inspector general of police, Tunji Disu.

Disu’s appointment effectively shuts out Nigeria’s most senior deputy inspector general of police, Frank Mba.

There are speculations that Frank Mba, will retire alongside Egbetokun.
The announcements are expected to be made in the course of today or this week.
