The Government of Abia State wishes to inform the general public, especially our energetic and vibrant youths, that the Nigerian Army has officially announced the commencement of its 89 Regular Recruits Intake exercise, with the online application portal open from March 31 to May 17, 2025.

The Hon. Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, on behalf of the Abia State Government, is calling on all eligible Abian youths to seize this golden opportunity to serve their country while building a meaningful and rewarding career in the Nigerian Army. The application process is completely ‘FREE’ and is available online at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.

This recruitment exercise is a strategic pathway for national service, self-development, and youth empowerment. Abia youths are therefore encouraged to show patriotism, courage, and determination by participating actively in this recruitment window.

Applicants will undergo an initial online screening, after which shortlisted candidates will be invited for a physical screening exercise at the designated recruitment centre located at GOODLUCK JONATHAN BARRACKS.

In line with the directive from the Nigerian Army, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has taken steps to appoint a State Liaison Officer who will assist in verifying the indigeneship status of applicants and facilitate smooth coordination of administrative and logistical arrangements for all Abia candidates during the exercise.

The Ministry of Information, in collaboration with other relevant agencies, will intensify awareness campaigns through radio, television, print, and online media platforms to ensure that the information reaches every corner of the state.

This recruitment exercise is more than just an enlistment into the Army, it is a door to personal growth, discipline, and national contribution. The Abia State Government remains committed to promoting opportunities that uplift and engage our youths meaningfully.

We therefore urge traditional institutions, religious leaders, youth organizations, Local Governments Mayors, Councillors, and community leaders to support this campaign by encouraging eligible youths within their constituencies to apply.

Let us work together to ensure that Abia is well represented in this national recruitment effort.
