ABUJA WORKERS PROTEST OVER WELFARE – WATCH VIDEO

The Federal Capital Development Authority FCDA workers staged a protest in Abuja on Monday over unpaid salaries and emoluments.

The workers also want the administration of the FCT to stop the deduction of national housing funds from their salaries.

The protest began on a peaceful note but ended in a fiery ultimatum.
The Monday protest was the listing of grievances ranging from non payment of earned wages and allowances to the lack of training in the face demands of a rising population with sophisticated demands.

According to the president of the joint union action committee Comrade Rifkatu Iortyer, the workers had taken several actions such as writing letters since 2023 to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike who refused to intervene.

There are other demands which prompted Monday’s protest.

The minister ignored the protesters who massed in front of his office causing the protesting workers to issue a 3 days ultimatum for the government to attend to their demands or all services will be grounded.
