Achi Improvement Union Calls for Unity At 2023 End of The Year Party

It was indeed an event to remember as the Enugu branch of Achi Improvement Union (AIU) held its 2023 end-of-the-year party in Enugu.

The event was hosted by one of the industrious sons of Achi, High Chief VinMartin Obiora Ilo, (Ebubedike) on Sunday, 17th December 2023, in Enugu.

In his speech at the event, Igwe Sunday Orah, who was also the Father of the Day, expressed happiness for being part of the event and thanked God for making it possible for the Achi community in Enugu to celebrate the 2023 end of the year party.

He prayed to God to grant them journey mercy as they travel home for the Christmas celebration.

Speaking to SignatureTV, the Royal Father thanked the host, High Chief VinMartin Ilo, for once again hosting the end of the year party of the entire Achi Community in Enugu, adding that this was the Fifth year he was hosting the annual event.
He prayed for God’s blessings and guidance on Ilo, his family and the community as they travel home for the Christmas celebration.

In his speech, the Chairman of Achi Improvement Union Enugu branch. Mr. Law Ibenyenwa, said that the twelve autonomous Communities of Achi came together to praise God for a fulfilling and productive year.

He called on members and non-members of AIU, to support the ongoing project of the Union in Enugu and advised sons and daughters of Achi to emulate VinMartin Ilo, in showing interest in the affairs of the community. He promised that whatever financial contribution made available to the Union will be transparently and judiciously used for the good of AIU.

Lending his voice, United States of America-based Catholic Priest and indegene of Achi, Professor Stan Ilo, expressed his excitement in witnessing the 2023 edition of the AIU end of the year party and urged the good people of Achi, home and in diaspora, to prioritize peace and unity in other to make Achi a better place. He maintained that it is important they love, help and celebrate one another at all times.

Earlier while welcoming his guests, VinMartin Ilo who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Signature TV, extolled the unity and love that exists and binds the 12 communities of Achi together, saying he has continued to host the annual end of year event to strengthen that bond.

He reminded everyone that the Achi Community must come first and every effort made by all sons and daughters to contribute to the growth and development of the community and her people.

He stressed the importance of peace and understanding among the people and urged all to work hard to sustain it.

In attendance was the member representing Oji River in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Honourable Osita Eze, the Traditional Ruler of Adu Achi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Sunday Oz Orah, Chairman of Achi Improvement Union Enugu branch Mr. Law Ibenyenwa, Chairmen of town unions of the twelve Villages in Achi and so many others.
