Advocacy Group Commends Corruption Tori says Fight Against Corruption Not for Anti-Corruption Agencies Alone
The President, Youth Advocate for Peace, Justice and Empowerment Network, YAPJEN, Ambassador Timothy Nwachukwu, says the fight against corruption is not meant only for government and its agencies but rather for all Nigerians.
Nwachukwu, made the statement when he visited the headquarters of Signature Television, producers of the famous anti-corruption television program, Corruption Tori on Wednesday in Abuja.
He commended SignatureTV for complimenting Federal Government’s effort in tackling corruption by amplifying the fight against corruption, using Corruption Tori as a platform to reach-out to those at the grassroots.
The YAPJEN President also said the visit was to explore areas of common interest and seek for collaboration with Corruption Tori, to take the anti-corruption message to another level.
Receiving the guest at the offices of SignatureTV, the Chief Executive Officer of Signature Communications Limited, Chief VinMartin Obiora Ilo thanked YAPJEN for identifying with SignatureTV, adding that the group and other organizations that are partnering with Signature TV, is a testament to the fact that Corruption Tori is making impacts in the lives of Nigerians especially those in the rural communities.
While announcing that Corruption Tori was ready to partnering with YAPJEN, Ilo called on other agencies and organizations to join hands with Corruption Tori to rid the nation of corruption.
Corruption Tori which is supported by MacArthur Foundation, in the last four years has achieved tremendous success in investigating corruption and holding public officers to account.
The program has also held Anti-Corruption Townhalls in local communities across Nigeria, set up Corruption Tori Secondary school clubs, held National essay competitions on Anti-Corruption and rewarded and given awards to ordinary Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in the fight against corruption
