AFCON 2025: NIGERIA CONFRONTS TUNISIA, TANZANIA, UGANDA – WATCH VIDEO
The much-anticipated Final Draw for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, has taken place at the iconic Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat.
The event determines the group stage opponents for the 24 qualified teams and is expected to provide plenty of drama, excitement, and anticipation across Africa.
The countdown to the Africa Cup of Nations has begun with the tournament scheduled to run from December 21, 2025 until January 18, 2026.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group C against Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda in the group stage that will produce two teams to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
Nigeria’s first match comes up against in form Tanzania at the Fez Stadium in Fez on December 23rd.
All of Nigeria’s matches will take place at the same stadium and the super Eagles will be confronting their regular opponent at the championship, Tunisia on December 27. Nigeria’s last match against Uganda will come up three days after on December 30th.
Nigeria defeated Tunisia 4-2 on its way to the AFCON final against Cameroon in Lagos in 2000. Tunisia eliminated Nigeria in the Round of 16 of AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.

There are no less exciting fixtures in the other groups, with host nation Morocco leading Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and Comoros.
The Group B is also packed with heavyweights consisting of the Pharaohs of Egypt, Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Palancas Negras of Angola and The Warriors of Zimbabwe who will have a lot to prove in the group.
In Group D, 2021 champions Senegal will battle it out with DR Congo, Benin, and Botswana, while Group E sees Algeria drawn against Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan.
The defending champions, Ivory Coast will be hoping to outwit Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, The Panthers of Gabon and Mozambique to kickstart their defence of the title they won at home last year.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe has promised that the 2025 AFCON will be an unforgettable moment in African football history.
Egypt are the most successful team in the AFCON winners list, claiming the title seven times, followed by Cameroon with five titles. Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria have three titles each.
