“All eyes are on you” CJN tells newly appointed Court of Appeal Judges
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Muhammad Tanko, has said that all eyes are on the newly appointed 18 Judges of the Court of Appeal.
Tanko made this statement on Monday in Abuja, at the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed Judges.
The CJN advised the Judges to flee from any guise of misconduct but to conduct themselves properly since according to him wealth not worked for will only lead to destruction.
The CJN told them to hold their head high always and discharge their duties professionally by avoiding all forms of unmerited favours.
The CJN while congratulating the Judges asked them to work hard and be mindful of the tremendous workload ahead of them at the Appeal Court.
Also speaking at the event, the former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson said the Court of Appeal needed new judges and described the appointment of the new judges as a welcome development.
The event which was graced by former Supreme Court Judges, traditional rulers as well as family members and friends of the new judges, took place at the Supreme Court of Nigeria in Abuja.
