Breaking: House of reps takes stand on state creation

Nigeria’s House of Representatives has unveiled 87 proposed amendments to the 1999 Constitution.

At a national public hearing in Abuja on Monday the reps unveiled key amendments which
include the creation of additional states and community police.

The reps also threw their full weight behind local government autonomy, and reserved seats for women and persons with disabilities in legislative assemblies.
