Breaking News: I Will Go To Court – Peter Obi

The Labour Party Presidential candidate, in the Saturday, February 25th Presidential and National Assembly election, Peter Obi, says he will contest the result announced by the electoral body.

According to Obi, there is overwhelming evidence in his possession to prove that the election was far from what was promised by the electoral umpire.

He said the just concluded election will go down in history as one of the most controversial elections conducted in Nigeria.

He made the statement in a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

While briefing newsmen, Obi re-affirmed that a new Nigeria is possible but will only work when the process of throwing up leadership is credible, fair and free of violence describing that Nigerians have lost their life, wounded because of what they believe in and that he must stand with Nigerians to challenge the conduct rascality, illegality and process of the just concluded presidential election

He called on his supporters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner whilst the party heads to court to get their mandate back.

Obi while affirming that he believes in the judicial system and that the rule of law will prevail, recalled that he has been successful in his court cases even when he was impeached as a governor of Anambra state.

He also announced that he is not seeking any international help as the issues on ground are Nigerian problem and will be settled in Nigeria through the court.

The presidential candidate emphasized that leadership is as fundamental as the process through which one gets to power, hence If one must be addressed as his excellency then the process that brought him up must be excellent and unflawed 

Obi said he is committed to working with other political parties and Nigerians who believe in a new Nigeria the party is offering and in the entire process of reclaiming their mandate, adding that the party is not forming any alliance with the People’s Democratic Party. 

Earlier the Labour Party candidate observed a minute silent for those who lost their life during the election and victims of other violence.
