Breaking: Sit-at-home: Shootings in Enugu as gunmen attack New Market, burn police van
There was heavy shootings in Enugu early Saturday morning as hoodlums enforcing 5 days sit-at-home attacked the New Market area of Enugu capital city.
Eye witness say the gunmen numbering over 10 stormed the area as early as 6:am Saturday and started shooting, scaring people away.
A police van was also set ablaze in from of the Colliery hospital at New Market.
Traders and early birds at the New Market were reportedly left trapped inside the market.
No casualty has been reported as at the time of this report just as police is yet to make a statement on the incident.
The sit-at-home which was supposed to have commenced on Friday was not obeyed throughout South East.
Unknown gunmen had also attacked and killed a Policeman Friday evening in Owerri, Imo state capital.
A brother to Nollywoood actor Paw-paw was also shot dead in Owerri, while a serving commissioner was attacked and dealt machete cuts.
