BREAKING: Tinubu Declared winner Of The APC Presidential Primary

The former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary held in Abuja.

The Returning Officer of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary, Atiku Bagudu, declared Asiwaju of Lagos winner of the Presidential Primary having secured the highest votes to beat his major opponents, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

Results collated:

Bola Tinubu – 1271 votes

Rotimi Amaechi – 316 votes.

Prof Yemisi Osinbajo – 235 votes.

Senator Ahmed Lawal – 152 votes

Yahaya Bello – 47 votes.

David Umahi – 38 votes

Senator Ben Ayade – 37 votes

Dr. Christopher Ogbonaya Onu – 1 vote.

Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba – 1 vote

Rochas Okorocha – 0 votes.

Pastor Tunde Bakare – 0 votes

Ike Abasi – 0 votes

Invalid votes – 12 votes

About 2,322 delegates from across the country were present at Eagles Square, Abuja, to elect the flagbearer of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The counting of the votes has ended and Bola Tinubu secured more than 50% of the total votes.

Among all the aspirants who procured the N100 million nomination forms, 23 were successfully screened to participate in the primary.

With the current development, Tinubu will face the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other party candidates to battle for the top political office in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
