Buhari, Kalu mourn as Ndoma-Egba loses wife in Ondo crash

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday commiserated with a former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, over the death of his wife, Amaka.

Amaka was said to have died in an auto crash on Friday.

Buhari’s condolence message was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, titled “President Buhari commiserates with Senator Ndoma-Egba over death of wife.”

Also, the Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr Orji Kalu, commiserated with Ndoma-Egba.

Kalu described the deceased as a supportive and kind-hearted wife.

Meanwhile, Ndoma-Egba has described his late wife, Amaka, as an angel, stating that “a trailer ran into their vehicle around Ore and four of them died on the spot.”

“She was an angel. Angels don’t live on earth. So, she has gone home,” he noted.

Ndoma-Egba has suffered a series of tragedies lately. Hoodlums burnt his house in the wake of the #EndSARS protest in Calabar on 24 October. Before then, he had lost his mother and mother-in-law.

No fewer than seven persons lost their lives while many were injured in the fatal accident that occurred along Ore-Okitipupa expressway in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Thursday evening.

According to a source, the accident involved a truck, two cars and a coaster bus belonging to the Sports Department of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. It happened a few metres away from the military checkpoint at Irele Junction in Ore.

When contacted, the Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Ahmed Hassan, confirmed the incident but said four persons died and eight people were injured in the road crash.
