COAS Restates Army’s Commitment To Boost Troops’ Morale

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to improving operational effectiveness and ensuring the morale and welfare of all personnel.

He also commended frontline troops for their bravery, professionalism and dedication towards safeguarding the territorial territory of the country.

Oluyede gave the assurance at a special luncheon to honour and boost the morale of troops at the 2 Brigade Military Cantonment in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The COAS, who was represented by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (CCMA), Major General Gold Chibuisi, commended the troops for their unwavering dedication to duty and assured them of the continuous support of the NA leadership.

Governor Umo Eno, who was represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, Brigadier General Koko Essien (Rtd), commended the troops for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace in the state.

Eno said that the state government is committed to supporting security agencies in the fight against militancy, and other forms of criminality in the State.

In a welcome address, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division and Land Component Commander (LCC), Joint Task Force (JTF), South-South zone, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), Major General Emmanuel Emekah, said the luncheon provided an invaluable opportunity for frontline troops to engage with senior military leadership, receive encouragement, and take a well-deserved respite from their demanding duties.

Commander, 2 Brigade and Sector 4, JTF, SS OPDS, Brigadier General Alexander Tawasimi, reassured citizens that the Nigerian Army remains committed to enhancing effectiveness and ensuring a secured environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.
