COLEMAN CHUKWUDELUNZU TAKES OVER PRESIDENCY OF ALAIGBO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION AS IT MARKS HER 10TH ANNIVERSARY
The Alaigbo Development Foundation, a Pan-Igbo Non-Governmental Organisation has marked its 10th year anniversary as a foundation with pomp and pageantry.
The event which took place at the Micheal Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia also saw the swearing in of the new executive of the organisation led by Nze Coleman Emeka Chukwudelunzu as National President.
Others elected include Joel Ogbonna as Vice President diaspora, Eric Eyutchae, Vice National President and
Captain Casmir Nwafor as Secretary while
Onochie Ukeme emerged as Treasurer.
The Chairman of the occasion, Retired Major General Chris Eze appreciated the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti for hosting the occasion which he said marks a significant milestone in the history of the foundation and the entire Igbo nation.
He praised the founder and pioneer president of the foundation, Prof Uzodinma Nwala and his team for laying a solid foundation for the organisation and for trying to articulate a common philosophy of governance in the country.
General Eze observed that the challenges facing the Igbo race since the end of the civil war are obvious to everyone but that they have managed to surmount the challenges.

said the organisation has promoted the philosophy and fundamental principles of ‘Igwebuike’ which emphasizes the strength in a united people.
The foundation he said fought the sudden quit notice given to Ndigbo to vacate the North in 2017, submitted a petition to the United Nations, the American Congress and other world bodies on the looming danger and previous maltreatment against the Igbos including the civil war massacre.
He added that ADF leadership along with some other Igbo leaders was the first organisation to visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at Kuje prison in Abuja before he left Nigeria when the military allegedly invaded his family house in Abia State.
The former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi regretted that some Igbo leaders often stay away from gatherings where the interest of Igbo land is being discussed. He thanked Professor Nwala who was his lecturer at the University of Nigeria and his team for their desire and efforts towards a better country and Igbo land.
Speaking to Signature TV, the national president of Alaigbo Development Foundation Nze Coleman Emeka Chukwudelunzu said the foundation is not in any competition with Ohaneze Ndigbo or any other pan Igbo organisations saying it’s primary focus is the protection development of Igbo land and its people.
The Traditional Ruler of Adu-Achi, Igwe Sunday Orah expressed his excitement that ALAIGBO Development Foundation has remained united in the last ten years and enjoined well meaning individuals to join hands to make Igbo land a better place for all.
The President of Signature TV Vinmartin Ilo observed that the 10th anniversary of Alaigbo Development Foundation is like the beginning of new things in Igbo land emphasizing that Igbos should come together under a common platform to address the challenges to their existence and survival.
The event featured various dance groups and launching of a book written by Professor Nwala with the title “Alaigbo Development Foundation, ten years of struggle and service to the Igbo nation (2014 to 2024)” as well as the
induction, swearing in and presentation of certificates to the newly elected officers.
