Diri to swear in 24 commissioners Tuesday

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, will on Tuesday, swear in the 24 members of his cabinet earlier screened and cleared by the state House of Assembly.

This was contained in a statement on Monday by his acting Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah.

Diri would be inaugurating the state executive council seven months after he was sworn in as governor.

He forwarded the names of the commissioners-designate to the Assembly on August 12 and they were screened and cleared five days after.

Five of the 24 cabinet members were former commissioners in the administration of former Governor Seriake Dickson.

The statement said the swearing-in ceremony would take place by noon at the Executive Chambers inside Government House, Yenagoa, the state capital.
