There was Pandemonium in Kano on Tuesday as the Department of State Security, DSS, embarked on the arrest of members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers who are closing filling stations in Kano metropolis in protest.
Several members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, PTD were arrested for what the DSS termed illegal actions of closing of filling stations.
An Operative of the DSS who pleaded for anonymity said they were able to open eight filling stations short down by the PTD members.
“We have arrested so many of them for closing down filling stations without justifications, This is because we cannot allow lawlessness in the State”, he said.

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers commenced an indefinite strike over what they called daily harassment of their members by the Nigeria Customs Service.
They alleged that for just moving around some Villages the Custom officials now use the Border town stopping of Sales of Petroleum products to arrest them.
However, the Customs Service denied the unilateral arrest of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, saying they arrest those moving out of Nigeria with the products.
Spokesman of the Customs in Kano, Danbaba said they arrested four trailers at a border town of Katsina State and had released one tanker after discovering that it was genuinely taking petroleum products to road constructors.
