Irate youths of Elugwu Ettam, Okpuitumo in  Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Sunday burnt down  the home of a chief, Celestine Okah

Celestine is the husband of the state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Wendy Uchechi Okah.

The people had accused Celestine, a civil servant, of promoting cultism and banditry resulting in the death and disappearance of some sons and daughters of the community

But Celestine vehemently denied the allegations and said that the people were jealous of his achievements.

However, his denial did not stop his summons by the community’s village head who ordered him to swear an oath to prove his innocence in accordance with the customs and traditions of the community.

Celestine, it was learnt, refused to swear to the oath but decided to report the matter to the police.

His refusal to swear to an oath and the involvement of the police angered the youth, who pounced on him before moving to his house which they vandalised and set it ablaze.
