Ebonyi Tops States With Least Domestic Debt

Ebonyi State has first come first among ten states with the least domestic debt across the country.

In the latest ranking released by the Debt Management Office (DMO), Ebonyi State ranks first with N41.63b over nine other states with least domestic debt making it the third time the state is occupying the position.

Among other states ranked with Ebonyi as least in domestic debt include; Jigawa with debt of 42.27b, FCT, N51.15b, Nasarawa, 57.14b, Anambra 58.28.

Others are Ondo with domestic debt of 62.32b, Kebi, 63.37b, Sokoto, 64.06b, Katsina 66.68b and Kaduna, 72.40b.

Speaking on the latest ranking of least domestic indebted states from DMO, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs Chioma Nweze, lauded the fiscal responsibility of Governor David Umahi in achieving great feats in all sectors with little resources.

Mrs Nweze said the state under the Governor has made tremendous progress in all areas especially in infrastructure, human development and agriculture with lean resources and still maintained a manageable debt profile.
