EID-EL FITR: BAUCHI SPEAKER CALLS FOR SUSTENANCE OF COMPANIONSHIP, FORGIVENESS AND UNITY

The Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman felicitate with Muslim faithfuls in Bauchi and beyond for successfully completing the Ramadan fasting and marking this year’s Eid-El Fitr celebration. The Speaker opined that Eid is a period not just for celebration but for sober reflection, visiting relatives and continuous practice of the numerous lessons learnt during the Ramadan fasting.

He implored on all to sustain the spirit of brotherhood, philanthropy, forgiveness and prayers to the country which were the hallmark of the month of Ramadan. The Speaker pounded on the need to eschew grievances, shun violent activities, distance from tribalism despite challenges bedevilling the country.

Suleiman is hopeful that the problems of inflation, ravaging insecurity, jutting unemployment, youth restiveness and pervasive corruption would soon become history.

“This year’s Ramadan fasting came at a time when things were hard especially for common citizens, but people were not deterred as they persistently been by attending prayers, such should be maintained. Nigerians need to embrace one another and always prioritize interest of the country. Importantly, extending helping hands to those in dire needs irrespective of faith, regions or ethnicity is sacrosanct for overall progress. Citizens should never encourage or partake in jungle justice, they should be reporting cases or strange individuals to rightful authorities”. The Speaker advised.

Rt. Hon. Abubakar commended the present administration in Bauchi State under the unmatched leadership of Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, he urged people to keep supporting and praying for the Governor as he strives to revive the lost glory of the State. The Legislative Head also appreciated the fatherly roles of Emirs, he reiterated that their efforts toward safeguarding cultural heritages, sustaining unity, pushing societal transformation and showcasing the importance of skills acquisition would never be in vain.
