Enugu CP Meets With The Stakeholders From Ezeagu And 9th Mile Reassures Safety

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, has met and interacted with security stakeholders from different communities in Ezeagu L.G.A. and 9th Mile community of Udi L.G.A., on ways of tackling existing and emerging security challenges in the communities.

The meeting which took place at the command headquarters in Enugu on Saturday the 17th of September 2022 highlighted and brainstormed on a number of security issues in Ezeagu L.G.A., including Herders/Farmers induced situations, the viral video of a prophesy suggesting the attack and massacre of villagers in Ezeagu by terrorists, which is said to have caused panic among the people, and incidents of kidnapping in 9th Mile community of Udi L.G.A., amongst other issues.

Addressing the stakeholders, led by the Chairman of Ezeagu L.G.A., Hon. Chukwudi Ozoeluba, the CP reiterated the resolve of the Police to ensure optimal security and safety of citizens of the communities, while charging them be security conscious and belief in Almighty God in view of the said prophesy, as he is the ultimate source of peace and protector of mankind.

On their parts, the stakeholders thanked and commended the Commissioner for bringing them together to discuss issues of security in their respective communities. They assured him of their support to the Police.

The CP was joined in the Meeting by the Command’s Management Team members and other Senior Police Officers, including DPOs of the concerned communities, while the stakeholders were drawn from the traditional rulers of the areas, led by HRM, Ígwè Amb. Lawrence Agubuzo, the Ígwè of Eziama-Olo Kingdom in Ezeagu L.G.A. and the Chairman of Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council.

Others include the President Generals of Towns’ Unions, PCRC members, leaders of Neighborhood Watch and other security support groups, as well as the Hausa/Fulani community, amongst other security stakeholders in the areas. Also in attendance was HRM, Ígwè Dr. Emmanuel Ugwu, the Ígwè of Ibagwa-Nike Kingdom and the Chairman of Enugu State Security and Peace Committee.
