Enugu State Governor inspects reconstruction of Colliery Hospital
The governor of Enugu State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on Friday inspected work on the ongoing massive reconstruction of the Colliery Hospital Enugu.
The project includes the construction of new structures as well as the expansion of the old structures which served as hospital for coal miners in the colonial and post colonial era.
Governor Ugwuanyi who expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far enjoined the contractor handling the project to expedite action to ensure the timely completion of the project.
He said that he would dedicate the hospital as an Infectious Disease Isolation and Treatment Centre, when completed.
The Colliery Hospital, Enugu was constructed by the British colonial masters to serve workers of the coal mines in Enugu before the commencement of the Nigerian civil war in 1967.
