Expert Seeks Synergy to Ease Mining Firms’ Power Challenges – Watch Video
Energy expert Rahila Thomas has urged the creation of an inter-ministerial committee to integrate Nigeria’s mining and power sectors, reducing mining firms’ dependence on costly self-generated electricity.
Thomas, Country Director of Energy Markets and Rates Consultants (EMRC) Limited on Monday in Abuja, said the move would attract investment, cut emissions, and boost industrial growth. She advised mining firms to leverage the Eligible Customers Regulation to buy cheaper, cleaner power directly from generation companies.
