Federal government promises to recruit more soldiers to tackle insecurity

In a bid to further strengthen and equip the Nigerian Military to fight insecurity, the Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi has announced the federal government’s readiness to provide a needed platform and recruit more soldiers to boost the counter-insurgency war.

The Minister who led service Chiefs on a visit to Maiduguri, theatre of operation against Boko Haram, on Sunday assured troops that the government is working to improve the manpower of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.

Magashi who said he was in Maiduguri with the service chiefs to assess the fighting spirit of troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, commended them for their dedication and high spirit even as he urged them to remain committed in the operation.

He observed that the Nigerian military has distinguished itself in various operations across the world and that of the insurgency would not be different.
